AI Literacy, Wise Use of AI, and Academic Integrity Among College Students in Indonesia and Thailand: A Cross-National Comparative Study

This study compares how Artificial Intelligence (AI) literacy influences responsible AI use and academic integrity among college students in Indonesia and Thailand. Using a descriptive qualitative method, this study synthesizes peer-reviewed literature (2021–2025) from Scopus, ERIC, ScienceDirect, Google Scholar, and SINTA. Thematic analysis reveals that while higher AI literacy correlates with responsible engagement, this still requires support from governance frameworks and assessment design. Indonesia prioritizes integrity education and detection technologies, while Thailand emphasizes governance and security mechanisms. This study provides cross-national insights and policy implications for integrating AI literacy and ethics into higher education curricula in Southeast Asia
